Note: For content created within the Spearow newsroom ecosystem (e.g., editorial guidelines, drafted articles, and video footage), the subscribing newsroom acts as the Data Controller, and Spearow acts exclusively as the Data Processor.

02What Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data only for legitimate and specific purposes. Depending on your use of the Spearow platform, we process the following categories of data:

  • Identification & Contact Details: First name, last name, and email address used for account registration.
  • Payment Details: We use Stripe to process payments securely. We collect necessary billing information, but full credit card details are managed directly by Stripe.
  • Site Usage & Cookie Data: Information about your use of our site, IP addresses, HTTP logs, and data obtained from cookies to ensure site security and proper functionality.
  • Third-Party Integration Data: If you connect third-party services (e.g., Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, or social media platforms for publishing), we securely store the OAuth tokens required to facilitate user registration, login, and authentication.
  • Application Data: This includes uploaded video assets, editorial Arabic text inputs, and newsroom shift management metadata.

03Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Performance of Contractual Obligations: To provide access to the Spearow ecosystem, ensure proper provision of our services, and manage your subscription.
  • Fulfilling Legal Obligations: To comply with Czech and EU legal obligations, particularly in the areas of tax, invoicing, and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • System Security & Analytics: Based on our legitimate interest, we process site usage data to monitor traffic, optimize the platform, and guarantee the safe operation of our website.
  • Fraud Prevention (via Stripe): Our payment processor, Stripe, utilizes transaction data, IP addresses, and payment method information to recognize transaction fraud and evaluate risks.

04Data Sharing and Sub-Processors

Your personal data may be transferred or disclosed only to entities required for the functioning of our services or where required by law. Our primary sub-processors include:

  • Stripe: For secure payment processing and subscription management.
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Vercel: For secure cloud hosting, infrastructure operations, and frontend delivery.
  • Google Gemini & OpenAI: For powering Video AI text generation, translation, and processing.

05Data Retention

Your personal information is stored for the duration of the contract concluded between you and Spearow, or for the duration of your active registration.

  • Upon termination of your subscription, we will delete or anonymize your application data from our databases as soon as the service has been terminated.
  • Billing and financial records are retained only for the period of time required to fulfill legal tax obligations under Czech law.

06Your Rights Under the GDPR

Pursuant to Chapter III of the GDPR and Section 81 et seq. of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., Civil Code, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: You may request copies of your personal data; we must respond within one month and will not charge a fee for the first request.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request corrections or completion of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request the deletion of your personal data when there is no longer a legal reason for processing it.
  • Right to Data Portability: You are entitled to receive your personal data in a commonly used, structured, and machine-readable format to transmit it to another controller.
  • Right to Object & Restriction: You may object to the processing of your data or request a restriction of processing.
